Customers Dissatisfied with Big Six Energy Firms
Commenting on an annual energy company satisfaction survey by Which? showing that the Big Six energy suppliers - British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON, Npower, SSE and Scottish Power - were all rated poorly by their customers, Friends of the Earth's energy campaigner Paul Steedman said:
"It's not surprising customers rate the Big Six energy firms so poorly - with rocketing fuel bills they've got a lot to complain about.
"And it's striking that satisfaction with some of the greener energy firms, such as Good Energy and Ecotricity, was much higher.
"Ministers must take urgent action to protect cash-strapped families and fix our broken electricity system by investing in clean, home-grown power we can all afford.
"It's time to end the Big Six stranglehold over the UK's energy system - Cameron must order an urgent public inquiry into their power and influence."
