The People and Environment Achievement Business Awards 2012 will seek to champion the individuals within corporations who demonstrate exceptional leadership and vision in implementing Britain’s ‘greenest’ business initiatives.

The judging panel chaired by Leo Johnson (Head of Sustainability at PricewaterhouseCoopers) also includes Deborah Meaden (entrepreneur and star of BBC2’s Dragons’ Den), Jo Wood (TV personality and organic entrepreneur), Josephine Fairley (co-founder of Green & Black’s), Alex Lambie (founder of Green Helpline) and Tony Juniper (environmental campaigner, author and editor-in-chief of Green magazine).

With a strong belief that there is an important role to play in facilitating and financing the transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient economy, Lloyds TSB Commercial’s ultimate vision is to be recognised as a leading UK bank on environmental issues, and in order to achieve this, it proactively identifies opportunities to collaborate with external partners to drive positive environmental change.

Lloyds spokesperson, Paul Turner, Director of Community & Sustainable Business comments, ‘We are delighted to be supporting the first PEA Business Awards and look forward to hearing about some of the amazing initiatives that individuals and teams are involved in to drive towards a low carbon, more resource efficient economy. By recognising and rewarding examples of environmental best practice in business, we can inspire others to follow suit and together we can make a real difference.'
