Be Stylish and Sustainable
There are many shops that sell sustainably-made jewellery, bags, shoes and clothes. Whether it’s Fair Trade, locally sourced or sustainably made you can be a Green Goddess.
A great collection of jewellery is the Kirstie MacLean Collection whose products can be purchased at Eco Products UK. The beads that Kristie uses are handmade in Uganda by a women’s cooperative and they are made from recycled magazines and posters. They do this by rolling the paper into the correct shape which is then coated with a layer of varnish before being finished with a glossy water-resistant coating. The colour of the bead depends on the colour of the recycled paper so no two pieces are the same meaning your sustainable purchase is truly unique.

You should always carry spare bags with you when you go shopping so why not make it an eco-friendly and stylish one. Also available at Eco Products UK are Doy Shopping bags, these are made from recycled juice cartons by a women’s cooperative in the Philippines. When buying these products you are preventing waste from going to landfill but also giving money to a good cause.

We’ve had necklaces and we’ve had bags so what next….shoes of course. Simple shoes specialises in biodegradable shoes that are sustainably made, some are even vegan friendly.
Okay, now something for the guys….an eco satnav. The Eco Navigator not only directs you to the most energy efficient route, it also plugs into your vehicle’s diagnostic port and tracks your fule usage and carbon emissions speed. With this data you can start to make changes to the way you drive and the Eco Navigator will tell you how you’re doing. It tracks the routes you take regularly and tells you about any improvements to your fuel efficiency.
Here is my list of websites for buying eco-products from gardening tools to recycling aids and gadgets to jewellery:
