World Environment Day Challenge

May 10, 2011
Help supermodel, Gisele or actor Don Cheadle plant a new forest by taking part in the World Environment Day Challenge on 5th June.

UNEP Goodwill Ambassadors Gisele Bündchen and Don Cheadle are taking the World Environment Day Challenge, ahead of World Environment Day on 5th June.

World Environment Day is all about positive action for the environment and highlights how powerful individual actions can be when combined. In the run-up to World Environment Day, individuals, groups, families and schools can post details of their planned green events online at wedchallenge.org.

When registering a WED activity, you can pledge your activity to The Goodwill Ambassadors, Don or Gisele.

Gisele has pledged to plant a tree for every activity registered in her name and Don Cheadle has pledged to plant two.

When the votes are calculated on 5th June, the result will be a new forest planted by the winner.

Whether it's switching from plastic bags to cloth bags, car-pooling with colleagues or organising a tree-planting day, WED activities can be big, small, local, international, noisy, quiet as long as they're green.
