The green carpet event, which took place at the Regent Street National Geographic Store in London last week celebrated individuals who are making a positive difference to our planet.

The calibre of entries for the inaugural ceremony were incredible so it was an extremely tough decision for the PEA Awards judging panel but the final winners for each category were:

Sustainability and Sport: Simon Taylor, Head of CSR, Chelsea Football Club

Responsible Travel: Debra Patterson, Green Team Chairman, The Savoy

Arts and Music: Andy Hope, Director, Croissant Neuf Summer Party

Public Sector: Steve McGuirk, Chief Executive and County Fire Office, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue

Entrepreneur of the Year: Craig Sams, Chief Executive Officer, Carbon Gold

Community Award: Azul-Valerie Thome, Director, FOOD from the SKY

Campaigner of the Year: Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Campaigner, Landshare

Business Person of the Year: Dale Vince OBE, Founder and Managing Director, Ecotricity

Best Earth Saving Idea: Gerry Hinton, Chief Executive Officer, Aquados

Best Energy Saving Idea: Dr Neil Jennings, National Campaign Co-ordinator, Student Switch Off
