Going green is back on the corporate agenda

Feb 4, 2011
Ethics and social responsibility may become a business priority if an economic recovery occurs this year says deputy chief executive of the Financial Times

The global economy is set for recovery in 2011 according to the World Economic Forum's proceedings in Davos. If this is the case corporate social responsibility (CSR) may be back on the business agenda.

Ethics and social responsibility are a key factor in how graduates choose their employers and potential customers and investors see it as important too.

Organisations such as The Financial Times, Pearson Foundation and Children's Tropical Forests already invest and raise funds for the purchase and protection of tropical rainforests in Costa Rica, which protects 60,000 trees.

As the deputy chief executive of the Financial Times, Ben Hughes says 'projects like this truly do show the green shoots of the recovery.'
