National Trust and RSPB join together for nature
Two of Europe's biggest conservation charities have agreed to manage the Eastern Moors on the outskirts of Sheffield together for the next 15 years.
The area is one of the main gateways to the Peak District National Park and the charities plan to make sure they restore habitats like blanket bog, increase wildlife like water voles and improve access for the thousands of people who visit the area each year.

National Trust Director General, Fiona Reynolds says: "The Eastern Moors is an area of extraordinary natural beauty. I am delighted the National Trust and RSPB are working together to provide opportunities for people to enjoy this area of countryside and get closer to nature."
RSPB Chief Executive, Mike Clarke added the partnership will work hard to enhance the visiting experience and will provide new ways to enjoy the site. He explains the plan is to develop a land management model which will show how uplands can be managed in future for both people and wildlife.
