Panasonic & Wildlife Trust scrub up well together

Nov 30, 2010
Members of the UK's Panasonic team and Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust took part in a scrub clearing task to protect animals living in a Nature Reserve

For the second year running Panasonic's UK team in Bracknell helped the Buckinghamshire and and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) remove scrub from Wildmoor Heath Nature Reserve to protect its varying habitats and support a range of ecosystems.

Panasonic's Manager of the Managing Directors office, Kelly Hales said: ‘For giving up just a couple of hours of our time once a year, we can help maintain this precious piece of heathland and the species that thrive there.  It really is very rewarding. We had a 24 strong team there on Saturday - most of whom participated last year too, so we have some really dedicated members.’

The event which took place last Saturday included environmental, education-based games such as a plant identification challenge, a ‘hibernation home’ game and badge making.

Panasonic has a global strategy called ‘Eco Ideas which they are using to combine eco ideas for Business and Lifestyles. The aim is to make Panasonic the Number One Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry in time for their 100th anniversary in 2018.
